Philanthropy & Culture In Jackson Hole

If it is possible for a town to have a soul Jackson Hole truly does.  For those residents who's passion in life is to help make our world a better place, Jackson Hole offers a myriad of opportunites for involvement.  With over 150 local non-profits Jackson Hole has become a hotbed for those who want to make meaningful change in our world.  The organizations you can particpate in include areas such as Animals, Art and Culture, Children and Families, Civic, Conservation and Environment, Education, Health and Family Services and Sports and Recreation. 

One of the communites major annual fund-raising events is Old Bill's Fun Run.  This event, organized by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, is one of Jackson's oldest and largest.  As of the year ending 2006, the Community Foundation had given $12 Million in gifts, $19 Million in grants and had over $29 Million in total assets. 

Jackson Hole also has a thriving community Art and Music culture.  Jackson's Center for the Arts has become the hub for all things related to the arts, with more than 20 resident organizations representing everything from music and dance to every aspect of the visual arts.  The Center Theater has hosted shows by Lines Ballet as well as musical talents such as Johnny Lang, Blues Traveler and Willie Nelson  In addition the Jackson Hole Film Festival, held in June, is fast becoming recognized as a world-class venue for the latest in film.  For more information on some of these excellent organizations and their programs click on the links below.  For a calendar of the happenings in the non-profit world and the local community click on the Teton Info link below.
